Leadership

MSOE's Business Excellence Consortium is committed to providing organizations with the knowledge and skills that enable them to achieve world-class results. Leadership is an important aspect of this.

At the BEC, many of our existing programs embody the principles of leadership, especially through our Lean Lead Facilitator training and the Project Management Lead series. In addition, we provide other opportunities for individuals to gain leadership and decision-making skills. These range from one-day seminars and workshops to a three-month leadership course through MSOE's Rader School of Business.

The following are the current leadership programs available through the BEC:

Courses

Leadership
This three-day course will provide you with an overview of the skills needed to become an effective leader. It is especially appropriate for mid-level managers who aspire to an executive leadership position. Available for academic credit or as a certificate of completion.

Seminars and Workshops

Business Community Outreach Events
A series of half-day sessions focusing on timely business issues. Features a prominent keynote speaker followed by interactive discussion groups on related topics.

Leadership of Continuous Improvement Programs
Four-day course focusing on effective deployment of systematic continuous improvement programs.

Defining and Selecting Effective Business Solutions
One-day workshop introducing participants to a structured process to improve decision making.

A3 for Problem-Solving
One-day workshop showing how an A3-sized sheet of paper can be used to as a standard format for problem-solving, proposals, plans, and status reviews.

Make Better Decisions with Systems Thinking
One-day workshop covers concepts and applications of systems thinking.

Innovation Immersion Workshop
Two-day workshop designed to immerse you in the entire innovation lifecycle, from establishing the business imperative of innovation in the 21st century all the way through to marketplace launch.
