Improving the predictability and quality of software development is a concern of executives and managers. This two-day course provides participants with knowledge of key process improvement success factors and management's role in instituting and maintaining effective software development processes.
Who should attend:
Technical and non-technical managers who are responsible for, or depend upon, the work of software development teams.
Course Content
- Introduction to software engineering process improvement (SEPI) concepts and methods
- Management's role in SEPI
- Managing efforts, schedules, and quality
- The project team launch process
- Planning and preparing for process improvement initiatives
Upon completion, you will:
- Work effectively with self-directed software development teams that are using SEPI techniques
- Interpret development team process and product measurements
- Prepare for, and participate in, the management-related components of a team launch
- Manage and support SEPI teams during project execution
- Assist teams in integrating SEPI methods with organizational standards and practices
- Plan for initial introduction and ongoing dissemination of SEPI in an organzation
