The BEC is offering a one-day session in Leadership Development. This session focuses on developing the essential leadership skills needed when implementing major change within an organization. This powerful session explains why leadership and listening skills are so essential in the change process and provides group discussion of and practice in the key concepts. This session is designed for supervisors, managers and above within the organizational structure. This is the first of two leadership sessions.

Pre-requisite: Overview of Lean must be taken prior to attending Leadership Development Day 1.

Leadership Development Day 1 content includes:

  • A discussion of Leader Qualities and the difference between Leading and Managing
  • The changing role of Leadership
  • The 4 concepts of Leadership
  • The 6 elements of Leadership
  • Learning to Listen Effectively
  • A Leadership simulation

Upon completion of both days of Leadership Development participants will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between leadership and management
  • Use improved listening skills
  • Understand the role of leadership in a lean enterprise environment
  • Understand empowerment
  • Understand motivation and the power of attitude
  • Practice the leadership skills learned
