Lean Leader® Certification

The Lean Leader Certification program prepares the Lean Kaizen Leader to lead enterprise-wide Lean implementation. It provides the individual with the skills and knowledge to assume responsibility for their organization’s overall continuous improvement efforts.

The Lean Leader becomes the point person within the organization for Lean implementation. The Lean Leader:

• balances Lean initiatives with business strategies
• defines strategies to realize benefits of bottom line results
• is an integral part of the plant steering team
• able to network Lean benefits across multiple sites
• provides the library of Lean tools to the organization
• sets priorities for Lean initiatives
• develops and executes Lean implementation plans

Content

This five-day program mixes face-to-face instruction with independent activities that involve Lean implementation planning. Also required are the completion of two Kaizen events within your organization after the classroom instruction. These independent activities require submitting an implementation plan for approval and a post-implementation report of the two Kaizen events that are evaluated by a Lean Sensei. The emphasis is on Lean implementation design and developing a Lean roadmap and then successfully executing the roadmap. The Lean Leader® program is built around proven instructional and experiential materials developed by Sigma Breakthrough Technologies, Inc.

Upon completion, you will:

• Be able to develop, with the executive team, the key metrics that drive organizational improvement
• Have the knowledge to lead an organization’s Lean initiative
• Have a complete understanding of the Lean tools and the ability to be able to apply those tools to specific organizational objectives
• Know the importance of employee empowerment through a team-centered environment
• Understand the role of the customer and know how to increase customer satisfaction
• Be able to train fellow associates on the tools of Lean
• Be able to facilitate improvement activities including Kaizen events
