The BEC is offering a 3-5 day Lean Office tools implementation event. This kaizen event addresses the need for companies to develop both Lean Offices and Lean Manufacturing areas before they can become a World Class Enterprise and compete globally. This program provides the participant with a complete understanding of how to apply and implement Lean tools in the office.

Lean Office Event activities are chosen by the customer and usually focus on an office process improvement such as:

  • Identifying office waste using Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
  • Reducing order entry lead-times
  • Reducing office errors and correction/rework
  • Improving office productivity by having everyone work smarter -- not harder -- by incorporating 5S in the office environment
  • The manufacturing work order creation process
  • An office simulation game which compares the performance of a typical departmentalized office area versus the Lean cellular office

Upon completion of this event, you will be able to:

  • Identify office activities that the customer is not willing to pay for (waste)
  • Redesign your work area to eliminate waste
  • Understand how office transaction flow and customer service can be greatly improved by creating office cells
  • Participate in making the office area part of your company's global competitive advantage
