The Business Excellence Consortium is offering a three-day workshop on Lean Supply Chain Management. This event addresses the need for companies to develop World Class Suppliers before they can become a World Class Enterprise and compete globally. The workshop provides the participant with a complete understanding of how to evaluate, measure, and continuously improve a company’s Supply Chain System.

The prerequisite for this class is the BEC’s Overview of Lean class or a common understanding of Lean.

Seminar content includes:

  • Rating your current Supply Chain state
  • Value Stream Mapping between trading partners
  • An office simulation to identify office waste that can occur in the Supply Chain
  • Using Kanbans and Pull Systems to reduce inventories
  • Supplier assessments and evaluations
  • Using Setup Reduction as the key to reducing Supplier lead-times and costs
  • Supplier logistics opportunities

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Understand Total Acquisition Costs
  • Help your suppliers implement Setup Reduction and Pull Systems
  • Understand the significance of "Manufacturing Critical Path Time" to assessing a supplier’s performance
  • Reduce the cost of both your company’s and your suppliers’ Supply Chain Management system
  • Develop a win-win relationship with your suppliers
