This 3 – 5 day Setup Reduction event is a proven way to implement this world class tool in any organization. By using an experienced lean expert, a designated team, is facilitated through the 15-step kaizen process to apply this powerful tool. Reducing setup times increases production capacity and improves customer satisfaction without adding resources and increasing cost. While this event is focused on obtaining results, it also provides an excellent environment for participants to learn from an expert about setup reduction as well as other world class tools. This allows participants to gain valuable hands on experience and confidence for facilitating or participating in future improvement events.

This event includes:

  • Event preparation, defining the scope and goals of the event
    • Everyone will clearly understand the desired objective
  • Team training includes: how setup reduction decreases inventory and increases quality, definitions of setup time as well as internal and external elements of setup time, the goals of setup reduction, seven rules of setup reduction, and the continuous improvement of the setup process
  • The actual Kaizen event
    • The team will follow a structured process to help achieve and sustain improvements in a working environment
  • Report out” to management on the results of the Event
  • Event Follow-up

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Report the results achieved from the event
  • Understand how Setup reduction may apply to an organization
  • Understand the 15 steps for conducting a kaizen event
  • Qualify for credit for the Lean Master Facilitator Setup Reduction class
