The BEC is offering a half-day session in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). This session begins with education on the major methods of maintaining equipment for reliability. Practical exercises and examples give participants the foundation for starting TPM in their organizations. Tools to measure the effectiveness of the process are provided and practiced. With operator involvement as the foundation, the plant-wide role changes required to support TPM are established as the starting point on the journey to zero unplanned downtime.

Pre-requisite: Overview of Lean must be taken prior to attending Total Productive Maintenance.

Total Productive Maintenance course content includes:

  • What TPM is
  • How TPM improves customer satisfaction and productivity
  • TPM implementation prerequisites
  • Calculating Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Upon completion of the BEC's Total Productive Maintenance, participants will be able to:
  • Understand TPM
  • Involve the right people in TPM
  • Determine the types of activities associated with TPM
