The BEC is offering a two-day session in Design of Experiments. Participants learn practical methods of designing, conducting and analyzing experiments to achieve major cost, productivity and quality improvements. Designed for anyone involved with quality, design, manufacturing, research, development and process improvement this session provides hands-on opportunities to perform actual experiments and apply DOE methodology. A statistics background, although beneficial, is not a prerequisite.
Content
- ANOVA (Analysis of Variance)
- Balanced & orthogonal designs
- Benefits of DOE and cost effective methodologies
- Central composite designs
- Design matrix construction
- Graphical displays
- Interpreting the impact of experiment inputs on experiment outputs
- Multiple regression
- Perform experimental designs simulating industrial applications
- Predictive equations
- Two and three level designs
Upon completion, you will be able to:
- Apply analysis and construction tools to generate valid conclusions
- Apply basic principles to optimize products and processes using cost-effective, results oriented, time saving approaches
- Evaluate, model and optimize products and processes
- Reliably interpret results
- Systematically isolate and solve process problems
