The BEC is offering a two-day session in GD&T. Participants learn to develop, understand and apply this widely accepted language of design. Emphasis is on practical application, datum reference frames, various tolerance types, characteristics, symbols and the latest ASME standards. This session is designed for supervisors, technicians, engineers and operators involved in product design, manufacturing, process design, quality planning and quoting. Participants are encouraged to bring drawings, photos, samples, or other types of examples for questions and class discussions.

  • Datum Reference Frame – Theory, Selection, Qualification, Applications – Datum Modifiers
  • Tolerances – Form, Orientation, Profile,
  • Position Tolerances – Cylindrical, Rectangular, Spherical, Conical
  • Coaxial and Non-Cylindrical Controls – Runout, Concentricity, Position, Profile and Symmetry
  • Fastener Formulas and Screw Threads
  • IB and OB Stack-up Calculations
