ISO 14001:2004 - Internal Auditor

The BEC is offering a one-day session in ISO 14001:2004 Internal Auditing. Participants learn to continually improve the environmental management system through an effective EMS internal audit process. This course is for any employee involved in the audit process including auditors, auditees, implementers, team leaders and Environmental Management System EMS specialists.

Suggested prerequisite: ISO 14001:2004 - Understanding and Implementing

Couse content includes:

• Case studies and group exercises
• Determining whether to use checklists
• Interpersonal skills for auditors
• Process approach and audit strategy
• Understanding ISO 14001:2004 and audit management
• Using audit tools to add consistency and order to the audit process
• Writing value-added user friendly nonconformities

Upon completion, you will be able to:

• Assess present documentation for gap(s)
• Conduct both opening and closing meetings
• Create an audit summary report
• Demonstrate effective investigative process audit techniques
• Organize an audit
• Reduce time and effort by using appropriate audit tools
• Recognize and take advantage of opportunities to add value to the audit processes
• Review and evaluate documentation for effectiveness and compliance to the standard
• Successfully lead an internal environmental management system audit
