The BEC is offering a 3-hour session designed to create a mindset where everyone takes ownership for their own safety and everyone around them in the workplace and at home. To achieve this mindset all employees from top management down are educated on the reality that accidents are not acceptable because all accidents are preventable. With education and training the culture becomes Zero Tolerance for accidents and injuries.

Indirect & direct costs of injuries at specific profit margins are explained. The goal is to illustrate to all employees how much a minor injury can cost everyone. Many in society believe that injuries don't affect them and that is what insurance companies are for. There is a belief that "my company owes me" or "safety is not my job". Employees will understand through this training that injuries do cost them money both personally and globally. Employees will be empowered and inspired to take responsibility for their personal safety for the good of themselves and the company.

The facilitator shares real life stories with employees and expects employees to share back. Employees are asked to determine whether the incident was preventable or not. The point is not to embarrass but to show them how to start fresh with new behaviors and ways of viewing things. Team building is another significant benefit of this co-worker interaction.

The facilitator uses interactive presentation techniques including role-playing. All activities are designed to encourage communication of respect and caring between all levels of employees.

The following Operating Principals are rolled out:

  • We strive to prevent all occupational injuries and illnesses
