Business Excellence ConsortiumSafety Champion Certificate
The BEC is offering a ½-day session designed to help Top Executives realize why instilling a culture of safety is so critical their company's future. This culture of safety is not only in business, but also carries over into homes and communities. In this session a "Safety Needs Analysis" is reviewed to enable individual companies to understand opportunities available to their organization to reduce total recordables and create a world-class safety culture. Top Executives will establish their company total case rate goals based on the needs analysis results and national averages of other companies just like theirs. These goals are then rolled out to the rest of the company. If owners & top executives want to get their organizations to world-class, buy in must start with them. There must be a corporate commitment to safety. They have to walk the walk and talk the talk. Safety must be a core corporate value. Companies that make the connection between safety and corporate social responsibility and implement the right programs will be world-class. Participants will understand direct and indirect costs of injuries at specific profit margins. By illustrating the costs of injuries and the dollars that can be saved by preventing them companies begin to understand how they can get a ROI on the money spent on safety programs. Top Executives are educated on the importance of empowering middle management and supervisors to make changes. However, empowerment cannot come with out measures. Top Management will understand what will need to happen administratively and how the supervisors and middle management will execute the program and measure results. The following Operating Principals are rolled out:
