The BEC is offering a two-day Quality Functional Deployment (QFD) training session. This training is designed to be a working session where the participants will learn and apply QFD in their product / process development.

The QFD training content includes:

  • Why QFD is a critical first step in product development
  • Benefits of doing QFD and its relationship to Six Sigma
  • Real world QFD examples and application in your business
  • Techniques for gathering the voice of the customer

Upon completion of the BEC's QFD training, you will be able to:

  • Gather the ‘voice of the customer’ and ‘voice of the business’
  • Utilize QFD to determine measurable characteristics for critical customer and product needs.
  • Apply all aspects of QFD in your business environment
  • Understand why QFD is a critical element in the Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology

The QFD training session will be facilitated by Steve Fleming, BEC Six Sigma instructor. Fleming has 24 years experience at GE Medical Systems in technical and management areas. As one of the first GE Medical Systems Master Black Belts, Fleming has six years of experience in Six Sigma. He is a certified Black Belt, Master Black Belt and Design for Six Sigma instructor. Fleming has had six very successful business start-ups, six personal projects completed and more than 100 projects successfully mentored. Fleming also has contributed to more than $90 million in savings.
