The BEC is offering a one-day session in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Control Plan. This session addresses the process of integrating APQP into the overall design, manufacturing and quality processes. This session is designed for Design, Quality and Manufacturing personnel responsible for the six phases of the product introduction process. This session is based on the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) – Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Manuals.

Content:

  • A macro or systems view of the product implementation process
  • Discussion of the inputs and outputs for the six APQP phases
  • Link APQP outputs to PPAP inputs
  • Simplifying the APQP process to generate control plans and PPAPs
  • The APQP history, benefits, flow, processes and responsibilities
  • The intent of the ISO/TS 16949:2002 product planning process
  • The various elements and applications of Control Plans

Upon completion, you will be able to:

  • Develop an organized and simplified approach to the implementation of both APQP and the ISO 9001 design element
  • Establish cross linking of APQP elements to simplify activities and minimize duplication of effort
  • Organize records to establish an auditable systems approach to APQP
  • Understand how APQP, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001 compliment each other
