This seven-day certificate program provides a broad, practical, comprehensive approach to Quality and Quality Management Principles by applying these principles to produce quality products and services. Participants receive valuable information and develop crucial skills necessary for cost effective continuous improvement. Learning opportunities focus on customer perception, customer satisfaction, and the process approach toward achieving competitive excellence in all we do.

The Non-Automotive Quality Engineering Certificate includes the following sessions:

  • 8D Problem Solving - 1 day
    This session addresses effective methods of problem solving by applying the process approach to the eight disciplines.
  • Failure Mode & Effects Analysis - 1 day
    This session addresses effective methods of performing product and process Failure Mode and Effective Analysis.
  • Statistical Process Control - 1 day
    This session addresses efficient ways to produce products that consistently meet or exceed customer specifications.
  • ISO 9001:2000 - Internal Auditor - 1 day
    This session addresses how to facilitate and continually improving the quality management system through an effective internal auditing process.
  • ISO 9001:2000 - Understanding & Implementing - 1 day
    This session addresses intent and requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2002
  • Measurement Systems Analysis - 1 day
    This session addresses a basic understanding of measurement and gauging systems.
  • Mistake Proofing - 1 day
    This session addresses effective methods of applying mistake proofing as a proactive method of improving and maintaining processes.

Upon completion of the Quality Engineering Certificate, participants will be able to:

  • Anticipate problems and failure modes before they happen then put controls in place to prevent those failures
  • Determine when and how to apply statistical techniques then understand and interpret the resulting data
  • Mistake proof products and processes to reduce costs, avoid rework, eliminate scrap and reduce inspection
  • Set-up, evaluate, and maintain measurement systems to ensure inspection, measuring, & test equipment reliability
  • Solve problems by finding and addressing root causes by applying irreversible permanent corrective actions
  • Understand the ISO 9001:2000 standard and effectively audit quality management systems using the process approach
